Optional get up early to catch the sunrise in the bay. Cruise to explore the various grottos, and fishing communities. Then, cruise back to the pier for a drive back to Hanoi, (if time permits) make a stop at the Phu Lang ceramic making village, an opportunity to interact with the artisans and understand how they preserve the traditional craft over generations before transferring to Hanoi airport for the flight to Hue, the former capital of Vietnam under the Nguyen Dynasty of emperors from 1802 till 1945, Hue City. Upon arrival, meet and transfer to hotel for checking in. Dinner tonight is at our hotel.

After breakfast, take a dragon boat ride upstream on the beautiful Perfume River to visit Thien Mu Pagoda, Hue’s most preserved religious monument in the former imperial city of Hue, offering an insightful look into its regal past with a visit to the Imperial Citadel of Hue (Forbidden Purple City) from where the Nguyen Emperors once ruled Vietnam, then back to our vehicle for a drive to visit the Holly Bowl Temple. Lunch break at hotel on own. This afternoon, drive to visit the most elaborate mausoleum of Emperor Tu Duc and Khai Dinh. (We will have extra time at this site for photography as the landscape is stunningly beautiful.) This evening, enjoy home-hosted dinner at a restored Royal home of the descendant of the Nguyen Emperor, Vinh Tu’s home.

After breakfast, check-out of the hotel and depart Hue for Hoi An via Danang, enjoy 2-hour scenic drive via Hai Van Pass (road climbs to over 1700’ with dramatic clouds and mist on the surrounding lush tropical mountains) where a spectacular panorama of the central coastline can be viewed at the summit. Upon arrival in Danang, we stop for a visit at the Cham Museum, the best collection of the Cham ruins dating from 2nd to 15th century, the objects on display represent the art of architecture and sculpture of the Hindu-influenced ancient civilization of Champa. Continue our drive to visit China Beach. Afterward, continue driving to Hoi An. Lunch is at Deluxe Vietnamese restaurant, Full Moon Towns restaurant. After lunch is free at leisure and our guide will brief you about the ancient town.
